Common questions about remote support, Microsoft Quick Assist, pricing, and what you'll need before we connect.
How does remote computer support work?
What is Microsoft Quick Assist?
We'll provide instructions for connecting through Microsoft Quick Assist. You approve the connection, and then we can view or control the computer as authorized while we troubleshoot the problem with you.
Quick Assist is Microsoft's remote assistance application for Windows. It allows you to share your screen with a technician and, when you approve it, allow remote control during the support session.
Is additional software download required?
Do I maintain full permission and control?
Quick Assist is our standard connection method. Depending on your version of Windows, Quick Assist may already be available or Windows may prompt you to get or update it. If another diagnostic tool would be useful, we'll explain what it is before asking you to run it.
Yes. You approve the Quick Assist connection before the session begins, can see what's happening on your screen, and can end the session when needed.
Can you help remove malware remotely?
What if my computer will not start at all?
Many malware, adware, browser, and pop-up problems can be investigated remotely as long as the computer can boot into Windows and maintain an internet connection. Some situations may require a different type of service.
Remote support requires the computer to be running and connected to the internet. If it won't power on or can't boot into Windows, hands-on computer repair is usually the better option.
How does pricing work for remote support?
What if support takes longer than expected?
Quick Fix is $49 for up to 30 minutes, and Remote Computer Support is $79 for up to 60 minutes. Additional time is $39 per 30 minutes when needed.
If we determine that additional time is needed, we'll discuss it with you before continuing. You can decide whether to extend the session or consider another service option.
Tell us what's going on with your computer. We'll help determine whether remote support makes sense or whether the problem would be better handled with hands-on service.
